Wifie lies about what happened. Joseph ends up in prison. Interprets some dreams for fellow prisoners. Pharaoh has a really weird dream that Joseph interprets. Joseph becomes a really big shot.

    I’m a leftover from the 60’s too. The 1860’s.

The Hollerith Code Punch Cards and IBM go back before the mainframe computer. I read that during the Manhattan Project work at Los Alamos, a large number of women “computers” created punch cards for the existing IBM technology. There were multiple IBM calculating machines, each programed to carry out one or two steps in the massive calculation. The “computers” put the cards in the first machine, ran the program, and then collected the punch card output and carried it to the next machine in the chain. Needless to say, it took a long time for each entire run.

Back before the computers escaped from the inner sanctum of the main office, our group used time share access on a remote computer via a Model 33 Teletype machine and a dial-up modem. The programing storage media was 1 in wide yellow punch tape. There were no problems with keeping the sequence right, but heaven help you if the tape got torn.

Be careful what you say about that to Bismark or Louis Napoleon. The seventeenth century also had a great run of facial hair.

What Sedgwick needs is a Canon de 75 modèle 1897. A ski resort used to use one to trigger avalanches before they threatened skiers. Although, dropping a live high-explosive shell on the roof might make daddy a little upset.

Opening a glass jar of iced tea for my wife is a real challenge. The 3 cm diameter lid has slick sides and is torqued down tight. A stillson wrench would be helpful, but I do not generally carry one in my pocket when dining out.

The Celsius temperature came first. The Kelvin or absolute temperature scale uses the same degree intervals, but sets the zero point at Absolute Zero = -273.15 C.
