   Sure, if one discounts both the medieval and Roman warm periods that were warmer than today. So to say 2023 was hotter than any year during those times is to stretch belief.

   Regular temperature measurements go well back into the 19th century, and there are ways of getting a fairly accurate idea of temperatures before that

   I suggest researching the difference between accuracy and resolution.

   2023 was the hottest year on record.

   2024 will replace it.

   Need to catch up. One climate movement spokesperson said 2023 was the hottest year of the history of the planet. Which of course, is ludicrous.

   What is interesting is that it is said that 2023 was 1.5°C warmer than pre-industrial times. And that it looks as though 2024 will be 1.6° warmer. I didn’t realize that temperature was measured to the decimal at that time…
