Maybe one third of English is French – most of the words I can’t translate directly from my German into English, and quite some of those that made it from French to German, too.

Just the wings will fall off.

Have you ever had a roll back on anything that actually was complete?

Just make the coffee strong enough then you don’t need a mouthwash.

Those kids are smarter that most grown ups. Imagine having them running the white house.

If those same wishes exist at the same time they cancel each other out.

So there are two wishes wasted. Both coins need to be retrieved.

That is an awful small coffee tin. Would make me run more than weekly. If that’s the only stock in the house.

(I keep the 2kg pack of beans in the freezer to refill the DIY-bean-compartment with it’s pound capacity of our bean-to-cup coffee machine.)

You’re looking at it from a mathematical angle wit the goal of a solution for infinite numbers. I look at it as a real world task with the goal of an estimate to have a practical solution (like how much change of what face value there needs to be in the cashiers tray at the start of a business day and why).

I work in the IT-industry. Those problems (and even more often those solutions) arise frequently.

Of course it is about overthinking. When I said about 1 in 365.25 a „correction“ to 365,242… is incorrect as that is not in contradiction.

And I went to claim and prove that this is incorrect anyway, since it is not a theoretical but a practical question. Because there are further influential points to a valid answer than just the astronomical definition of the length of a year.

Yes, that is serious overthinking. Which was my point.
