The basic idea with WikiLeaks is that what they print is “true” – they release State Dept. cables, government files, etc. We may not like it, but more truth is a good thing. They don’t make stuff up. They don’t troll people. I would say “printing” the truth is journalism. When the NYTimes printed the Pentagon Papers it hastened the end of America’s involvement in Vietnam – when Americans learned truths that the government had known and not released. When Edward Snowdon revealed the illegal data collection and surveillance of American citizens it led to a rollback of that program. So, let the truth come out. It has to fight hard against all the lies just to be heard.
There is no truth in that. Inhuman cruelty is never a lesson or a “teachable moment”.
