I love Gus’s companionable comment to the crow. :-)

You know, the thing that hits me about this is how true the step-wise back-and-forth process is, to making a really huge decision without external pressure that forces your hand. I mean, if you have a job transfer or you discover you’re pregnant or your elderly parent has to be moved to hospice, you have no choice but to change your life around on the spot. Deciding to get married, to start a family, to end a marriage, to move for reasons of personal choice . . . those are decisions I always see people go back and forth on until they are heartily sick of thinking about it. But then they do finally take action, one way or another. When I’ve been in that situation myself, it almost feels like practicing — like going up on the high dive as a little kid but then being afraid to jump off even though you really want to do it. But if you keep trying, even if you back out several times in a row (going back down the ladder, and yes I did that), there’s a time when you take that plunge and jump. Maybe we just need to work up to it sometimes, I don’t know. But this arc sure makes me think of those times.

Absolutely beautiful color on this one, the way its laid in over the drawing, the shadows on the ground. Wow.

Oh those drawings of the baby grabbing eyeglasses and clothing! Perfect! Brought it all rushing back so clearly that I laughed and winced at the same time.

I just want to point out the excellence of the drawing in this particular strip. Somehow he really showed the way a woman looks when trying to see the part in her hair with a mirror that way, and then dipping her head down so someone else can see the part in her hair. That’s just not an easy thing to do, regardless of how professional an artist you are. Awesome job!! :-D

This is even better than yesterday, which was itself awesome. It’s so important to stand up for others. But reconciliation is an essential part of the whole process too. And it’s so much harder, takes so much courage.

Well, that’s why your neck hurts. Er, why Ford’s neck hurts. :-)
