   I thought for sure that Lucy was going to knock down the stack of blocks by the last panel—but that assumption was based on her character when she’s older. This is another great example of how Schulz changed her personality, from passive in her early appearances to aggressive years later.

   Thank you for your interest and compassion. I’ve tried a bunch of different prescription meds over the years to help alleviate my anxiety and depression. The side effects were worse than the problems. Most of them made me tired. One even made me sleep all day. Another took away all my emotions. I couldn’t get happy or sad. Nothing. Took away my s*x drive, too. So I guess…technically…they worked…? No thanks. If I don’t get too low and lose interest in all the things I like, I use my love of writing short stories and listening to music to keep me afloat. Best of luck to you. To us both.

   Real worriers don’t need a calendar to keep track of the things they need to dread. They’re on their mind all the time. They wake up to the thought of them and carry them with every second of the day, every day. I should know; I suffer from anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD, not to mention autism (specifically, Asperger’s), germaphobia, and perfectionism, to name a few. Needless to say, it’s a miserable existence.

   It’s impossible to come up with anything new, let alone good. Every form of art and entertainment today—or anything for that matter—is derivative. Recycled. B*stardized. It’s depressing to know that we peaked years ago and that there’s nothing in the future that will be better than anything from the past.
