   Perhaps the reviewer saw a story of different species (elves, gnomes…) getting along and saw diversity. A lot of fantasy books, have different creatures not getting along and fighting each other.

Surely if a player was that tall and the good, they would have been identified by now.

   Way back when I was a freshman in high school, they gave a national math test to the entire school. I read the instructions first. It said that they would only count the questions answered. So I went through it and answered the ones I knew and left the rest blank. Got the highest score because I read the instructions.
