Bald Eagles have not been on the endangered list since 1995. They were still considered “Threatened” but in the lowest level as their population is increasing. Bald eagles were delisted from the Endangered Species Act in August 2007, because their populations recovered sufficiently, bald eagles are still protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. Both laws prohibit killing, selling, or otherwise harming eagles, their nests or eggs. Where I live in Washington State we see bald eagles almost every day.
Best day on the water. Pod of orcas teaching a calf how to kill a seal. FOR OVER 30 MINUTES. They came so close to us we had to shut off the motor and just sit and wait for them to move on.
