Wow. I don’t know where you see teachers, but that was never my experience. I taught in a city school for over 30 years and 99% of the teachers I worked with were dedicated people who chose teaching as more than a job, but a mission. I miss them now that I’ve retired. And the new teachers coming in had that same gleam in their eyes. They had days when the constant bashing by the outside world and the kids’ problems would get to them, but they loved their work and were devoted to the idea of helping people learn.
A “suite” in college is nothing fancy. Two or three bedrooms connected by a small common room and a bathroom. Pretty bare bones when I was at school. The term just distinguishes the dorm setup from a single room with a hall bathroom.
OH NO. I had hoped that they really did elope. I am so with Toni on the wedding fuss stuff.
