I’m dying to know why Annie called Santa! I made the best ever pumpkin bread last night – by mistake! I have a small food processor and poured half the sugar/egg mixture in a bowl to make room to add the pumpkin and oil. Blended it well, added it to the flour mixture, spooned it into the bread pan (it was rather thick) and put it in the oven. 20 minutes later I noticed the remaining egg/sugar mixture, pulled out the now partially cooked bread which was already toasty around the edges,, poured it over and thoroughly mixed it in. Cooked it for another hour and it came out perfect!
Decades ago, I adopted a young blue siamese from a shelter, and made a spur of the moment decision to also adopt his brother, an ordinary plain gray cat. That cat became my very favorite animal ever, we were true soul mates and I cried every single day for over a year when he unexpectedly died at 16. Joey was also a split second decision when I picked up Sammy, and he is one of the most loving purr boxes ever!
Looks like it’s already full of coal. Joey did very good yesterday, had 4 teeth pulled plus a cleaning and including anesthesia and more meds the bill was almost half than I had been quoted. He immediately ate a bowl of baby food when we came home, and another this morning. I did a little snowshoeing and hiking in the Mammoth Lakes area but the groomed trail was too close to the road noise, so I drove to one of the few lakes further south whose road is open and hiked through the snow partially surrounding it, and with no one else around I got my solitude fix.
I knew it couldn’t be any worse, but I didn’t expect perfection!
