Maybe it’s an engine from the Cliffside Railroad, featured once in GASOLINE ALLEY. Jim Scancarelli has attended Cliffside Days celebrations. The old steam engine ran from the mill in Cliffside to the Seaboard (now CSX) connection in Ellenboro.
We remember the innocent lives lost and the way the country came together. We also remember Pearl Harbor day but do not hate the Japanese. We remember a defining moment in our history.
Maybe Al Gore is kin to Barney Google ! Mutt and Jeff still appear on this page, but I believe they are reruns. Barney and Snuffy have new material—good material—by John Rose and appear in newspapers.
IT is true that some newspapers were treating comic strips badly before the internet. Maybe we need afternoon newspapers that feature mainly local news and carry good comic strips.
