Greetings! Thanks for clicking on my S/N. I'm a mousy-maned middle-aged maiden with a tenacious tendency toward alliteration. Having lived through comics as a kid, I dreamed of having a super-hero alter-ego. Thus, I can only make & read comments when not stopping speeding locomotives, leaping tall buildings in a single bound, or fighting for truth, justice, and Mom's apple pie.

I think a free t-shirt counts as a stocking stuffer. You MUST add a thought-filled gift, something the other person really wants (you know, because you have been listening to them)

Paldec, as I understand it blood should be donated free because paying people encourages people who are not eligible to put infected or tainted blood in the system. Yes, there are costs for labor and eqpmt, and we pay for these thru our insurance premiums (my Medicare went up about $10/month in 2025). Yes, at the center I mentioned there were clearly troubled people trying to sell blood.

Luann is tight. It is NOT, except a little bit. This is about Mrs. Horner and Luann’s guilt at not giving her a kidney. Phil suggested a substitute.

I am looking for new place to donate blood so stopped into Donor Center last week. They pay for blood, making me think it probably isn’t going free to patients. Still looking.

Times change. When I was in college (mid ’70s) we would be all over anyone who used the patronizing term “girls”. We were, and are, women. Here us roar.

Well, at least Luann isn’t asking them for a kidney, lung, or part of a liver.

She can think as a child would— she’d be a great teacher.
