In the 50’s Georgy would call out under my bedroom window, “Billy, come out and play.” We would be gone till dinner time or when the street lights came on. Eat lunch at somebody’s house, No one worried.
Glad you posted that. I remembered that they were from that book, but only that. It’s been 70 years since I read it so anything but the broadest outlines and common knowledge is all that’s left.
George Washington was right. People are more loyal to their party than the country. Before newt it was the gentleman across the aisle, after: the enemy across the aisle.
BTW, I grew up in the neighborhood of this comic. When I first saw it it seemed like home to me.
