You’ve got it backwards. The students whose loans are being forgiven have ALREADY been to college. The taxpayers already gave them the chance to get the great jobs, now it’s their turn to repay the loan. It’s not our fault if they chose poorly on how they spent our investment in them and it doesn’t change the fact that they have an obligation to meet.
As someone who went to school in the 60s & 70s and is also a grandpa but had never thought of it that way, this strip struck a nerve. Feeling old today!
Right. Because the surrounding states are FORCING normally law-abiding people to buy guns and commit crimes. Couldn’t possibly be the fault of the criminals themselves.
Wish we’d studied Shell Silverstein when I was in school. Of course, Shel almost certainly hadn’t started writing when I was in school so that would have presented a bit of a problem.
FedEx prohibits guns on their property. I guess that proves that the whole “Gun Free Zone" thing doesn’t work. Not that anyone with a brain needed proof of that.
Have any of you ever actually bought a gun? Do you have first-hand knowledge of the process? Or are you just regurgitating the old BS about how it’s all the NRAs fault? The background check process, supported by the NRA I might add, prevented more than a million people from purchasing a gun between its inception and the time a CNN article was written in 2013.
