I actually volunteer at a food bank. We don’t have any funding at the moment, so can’t help anyone with their utility bills or rent. We accept donations of food (and money when offered), and our director goes out and buys the food we do not receive as donations. Our “free loaders” are not black, but Hispanic – most of whom do not have green cards and don’t speak English. We have a “sharing tree” program that provides gifts for kids for Christmas, and quite a few of the people I have seen do not sign up for the food bank or other services we offer, but want presents for their kids. I understand that they will often go to several different “servicers” so that they will recieve multiple gifts for their kids. I think this is OUTRAGEOUS!!
I had an elderly Aunt Opal when I was young (I’m 64 now). She died before I hit puberty.
