What if you don’t have a copy of your birth certificate and can’t get one because the office with the original burned down. Granted, it’s not likely to happen to many people, that both they and the state lost their birth certificates, but it does happen. Those people wouldn’t be allowed to vote.
Either way it’s basically a poll tax. We shouldn’t be charged anything to vote. And it will keep more honest people from voting than fraudsters.

When did “there are people worse off than you” become a good reason to let bankers get away with betting money they don’t have on bad investments and then paying themselves bonuses after crashing the market? OWS isn’t about looking for handouts. It’s about making sure the rich actually worked to get that way.
