Greg and Karen, I would love to see Diane come back in the current comic. I would especially love to see her reaction to how Brad actually grew up into a decent adult.
Congratulations Bill! I started reading shortly after the strip started while I was in high school. Loved the Norts Spews and diving after any dropped object as if it were a fumble.
In Coronado, CA (across from San Diego), regular unleaded is $6.59 at one station and $6.79 at the other. Even on the Navy base, regular unleaded is $5.49.
It seems like yesterday when my dad and I were watching the game on TV from our home in the East Bay. After Ken Stabler came in the game and put the Raiders back in lead, we thought the Raiders were in the drivers seat with just over one minute left in the game. We were wrong. That play was hard to take for my dad (a Raiders season ticket holder; at that time it was actually possible for a blue-collar worker to afford season tickets) and for my 14-year old self who had been going to games since 1966. But 50 years later the sting is gone amid the more important events of life. RIP Franco. I’m sure you will talk about this game in heaven with Stabler and John Madden.
Some of you must be pretty young to not remember that Democrats were against deficits during the Reagan presidency, mainly because they were against increases in the defense budget. Why do you think Trudeau included Lamont’s rant in today’s strip? It wasn’t because he could foresee the political positions of the early 21st century.
