If the colorist isn’t going to make any real effort to be accurate I’d prefer that they didn’t even bother coloring the strip. This strip would look absolutely fine with no color.
The way Quiver is drawn is very reminiscent of Rick Fletcher’s artwork on Dick Tracy in the 1970s and early 1980s. I always loved his artwork. He had a very unique style.
I’ve always preferred the weekday artwork over the Sunday artwork. I prefer the more precise, detailed style – which is more appropriate for a detective story. Today’s strip is more jarring than usual though. There needs to be some consistency from day to day. This style of art might be very effective in other forums but it is not for Dick Tracy.
Blackjack is a villian with a heart. Not really a villian at all, is he? More like Robin Hood. He breaks the law but lives by his own code – one that Dick Tracy can respect.
My comments from the last two days in which I stated that Sparkle was unjustified in hitting Vera have been deleted. Instead of deleting my comments, how about a response?
I didn’t understand what Vera did that prompted Sparkle to hit him. Now he’s the one who is arrested. I feel sorry for him. I think Sparkle should be arrested.
I agree. Until I understand why Vera deserved to be hit by Sparkle, I will not approve of Honeymoon cheerleading. I hope there is some explaination for this. I will be disappointed if this is just “you go girl” female violence.
