   That’s a lot of words to say you don’t understand the difference between a democracy and a republic. Our founders went to great lengths to prevent a democracy. The difference is a republic ensures individual freedom, versus mob rule. I really don’t care what you think, though. Anyone who uses terms like maggot to describe fellow citizens will be covered in them when the coming revolution arrives.

   It’s fine if you don’t know the difference between and republic and a democracy, and I have no interest in educating you. I was simply pointing out that the Electoral College is the way we vote for federal positions because we are a republic and not a democracy. The only way we would abandon the EC would be when we are no longer a republic.

   You must have forgotten the name of this country. It’s not the United People of America. We live in independent states and the federal government is largely unnecessary. The country will be broken into smaller segments long before the Electoral College goes away. It’s obvious that many don’t understand the EC. They are the same people who don’t understand the difference between and republic and a democracy. If you don’t want to live in a republic, move.
