And public financing would do just the opposite. After all, who’s going to be deciding who gets funding, and how much? Any other party already faces an uphill struggle thanks to factors such as ballot access laws.
The system is very much part of the problem, but I agree that these suggestions would do at least as much to make things worse as better. Public financing would further entrench the power of incumbents and the dominance of the Republicrat duopoly. After all, who’s going to decide who gets funding and how much?
And yet there are so many pushing for insurance to cover ever more. Insurance should be reserved for large, unpredictable expenses. If auto insurance worked the way health insurance does, insurance would cover routine oil changes but an oil change would cost $2,000.
Really should have quit after the first paragraph. Encouraging unengaged and uninformed people to vote just for the look of the thing is unlikely to help. Choosing not to vote is a perfectly valid choice that should be protected, just like freedom of speech includes freedom from compelled speech.
Yeah, nothing like advocating restrictions on free speech and promoting coerced speech.
