With the awful reality of the right-wing’s war on women impossible to justify, why, on earth, would anyone be concerned about references that are accurate, if not complimentary? They ARE middle-aged, white, male legislators and the whole point is to SHAME the women into deciding against abortion. Phyllis Schaffley may think she’s “educating” women - making sure they “understand” what they’re doing when they have a pregnancy terminated - but somehow, I think women and their doctors can figure out what’s best for the woman without the ham-fisted intervention of a middle-aged, white legislator who probably hasn’t the faintest idea how the female reproductive system works. It IS a shame room. That IS the intent of the law.
