   Take the fact that the Earth started as a molten ball. The cooling of the crust would of course taken place first. This does not mean that the core was formed at that time. The core could have taken easily 2.5 years to “form” from the swirling masses below the crust. Completely plausible yet virtually un-provable.

   If Proxima Centauri b is 4.5 light years away then it takes 4.5 year for something at the speed of light to arrive. Regardless of Time dilation the crew would still have to travel for 4.5 years.
