Actually, in this cartoon, it should matter. The artist puts in shadows to simulate some 3D effect. If you do that, you should get the proper legs tied together.
You mean you never got the department shuffle. Where a whole department would change building or just floor. With sometime upgrades of stuff. But the shuffle was mostly for people to choose which cubicle they would get, with the more resent hire getting the worst one with the most passing foot traffic. i.e. next to the elevators.
