Don’t know what the cost of a stamp is nowadays, but a year before the wife passed(2021) she sent out afew via email. To a few others that were not blessed with that ability, she would phone.
Had a heck of a time trying to find R12 to re-charge the a/c in it. Those that I took it to wanted to change it to R134, but could not find new fittings to replace the old style. At $150 a 12 oz can, asked my youngest son to locate whatever he could. Found six 4 oz cans of R12 on Ebay for $197. Took it to my friend who owns several old cars and he hooked up the old system and we got the system charged. His favorite car of the nine he owns is the 1926 Buick. My wife called it “the Al Capone” car when she first saw it!
I’ve had lots of days like that since the wife passed in 2021. However, my ’33 Pontiac ’n carshows now and then keep me busy during the season. Have gone back to reading my spy and mystery novels too.
Wondering if any of you readers still use those xmaslights that when turned on used to bubble? Last time I saw any of ‘em was back in the ’50’s.
