I’m only O-, but I’m popular, the RedCross’ “favorite flavor.” I’m scheduled to donate on Monday, which should stop the twice daily phone calls… looking for “a date.”
Well, the Bigfoot (or ‘Squatch’ of a few varieties ) are important side characters in the B&N series, but wait until you find the other species. (And let’s not forget the robots.) All the major ships are BS, as in Bob’s Ship Gene Cernan, BS Alan Shepard, etc. :-D
The stories aren’t great literature, but they’re good fun. The most annoying part is the repetition in explaining things to new people they meet. And of course, as has been alluded to, there is a story line through the series related to “The Brotherhood/People of the Wind”, helped along by Bob’s chili, which is of course eventually opened to all types, male and female.
“I can’t IMAGINE why this cartoon reminded me of that. :)” Maybe because most of the female characters in the Bob and Nikki series are just as ‘ornery’ as the males. ;-)
As someone on another forum described it, the Bob and Nikki series is “Like literary potato chips.” Light reading, and the writing style won’t win any awards, but the humor (Including some of the character names and cultural references.) and the story line will keep you coming back for more. Each book is like another chapter, albeit long ones, at about 300 to 600 pages, and a new one has been coming out every month or so. The biggest complaint is loss of sleep from being unable to put them down, but if you need a place to stop and take a break, do it when their “doggie alarm clock” wakes up Bob in the morning. ;-)
