Do you really think it will make no difference if MAGA and DOGE fire 65% of the EPA, or rescind the finding that CO2 and other greenhouse gases are pollutants? “The climate changes, always has, always will. Long before mankind trod upon the Earth, it went through warm periods and ice ages.” This is just about the stupidest kind of “argument” for inaction imaginable.
1) To say “other things besides humans can cause climate change, therefor humans aren’t causing climate change” is like saying “buildings can burn or fall down without being hit by jetliners, therefor the World Trade Center wasn’t hit by jetliners”.
2) During many of those past climates, Earth would have almost unrecognizably different than it is today, and would be totally unsuited to the agriculture that human civilizations rely on.
OK, I know perhaps I am being a bit uncivil, but I am so, so, so, tired of the ignorant trotting out their idiocies as wisdom. This is the kind of invincible stupidity that leads to voting for Trump.
