I am neither pathetically uninformed nor ignorant and you calling me such shows a lot about your character. Further, it shows a lot about your stance. You have no rebuttal to what I said but to put me down and state that I live in a dream world.

First, protected classes protect the majority as much as the minority. One cannot be fired for being older or younger, one cannot be fired for being male or female, one cannot be fire because of the color of skin (even if the color is white), etc.

Second, being in a union is not a protected class. Being part of a union affords the person the protections as set forth in the contract between the employer and the union. That is where the protection arises not from being a protected class.

Third, sexual orientation is not a protected class in most places and where it is it protects heterosexuals as much as gay folks.

Therefore, young, healthy, non-union, heterosexual, white protestants have the same protections as everyone else in his/her area. However, he/she does not have the same protection as a member of a union because he/she does not belong to one (unless one lives in a right to work state which means if he/she works at a union job, he/sh receives the same protection but does not pay dues into the union. Therefore, he/she gets his/her protection paid for by his/her co-workers who belong to the union). Also, if the area where he/she works does not have protection against discrimination based upon sexaul orientation, he/she can be fired for being heterosexual just like his/her counterpart could be fired for being gay. However, the likelihood of someone being fired for being heterosexual is slim to none whereas the same cannot be said for being gay.
