   We lost both Penneys and Sears. And we lost Kmart. Pretty much leaves us with Walmart. I miss the others.

   Our local paper closed several years ago. Like @mb, we get our news from the paper in another town. If you want local news, the radio is about your only option.

   The Right has an impressive propaganda machine in media. The Left needs to stop depending on the legacy news outlets and learn to use media to their advantage. Media that says it presents a “balanced” view ends up bending too far out of shape trying to pretend that happens.

   Why do arts and “comedy” have to be at someone else’s expense? I have been in enough situations where the jokes made me uncomfortable or were hurtful. So maybe offensive is not always a bad label, especially if it is demeaning.

   I have worked in departments that had excellent male cooks. Covered dish events were always good, and everyone did their part. Except for Joe. he admitted he couldn’t cook and brought paper plates and napkins. But he was honest about it.

   In some states, you cannot give blood if you have recently (in the past year) gotten a tattoo. So Bernice’s flying eagle she had inked across her back could be stopping her.

   I collect fountain pens, and I have around 80. It is all I ever write with – besides the obvious keyboard.
