It was no surprise the withdrawal was chaos. Trump released 5,000 terrorists from prison strengthening the Taliban. Trump dangled $85 billion in weapons in front of the Taliban and withdrew US forces down to an inadequate level of 2500 troops before turning it over to President Biden. That’s like giving a an old guy a stick to defend a fat cow from a pride of hungry lions.
That doesn’t mean gas prices will drop proportionally under the Orange One’s circus to come. Oil companies remain profitable no matter what party controls the not-so-White-anymore House.
Many right-wingers don’t realize that gas prices nearly tripled under President Bush between 2001 and 2008. We’ve never really recovered from those price increases.
It’s kind of like when you get behind a high end muscle car on a long freeway on ramp and end up doing 50 mph while trying to merge with traffic that’s going 75+ mph.
