Rebounds are great until you fall off the trampoline. I think Kip thinks of her as a pal he’s interested in, but wants to take it slow if anything happened. He probably got rushed into his relationship w Stef because of Stef’s appetite for Kip’s baguette, but that’s all there is to it. And that’s great and fun for a time, but when it’s long term, you want someone to connect with on a road trip, across the dinner table, being bored for the sake of boredom. That’s why I think “partner” is a better way to sum up a relationship than the other terms.
