Interestingly enough, Y. Arafat was related to the Grand Mufti. Whatever happened in the Middle Ages notwithstanding, Islamic anti-semitism went hyperbolic in the 20th Century. Pogroms in Mosul in 1926 and 1939, the Baathist movement in its entirety, two Waffen SS divisions filled with Bosnian Muslims, the expulsion of Jews from their ancestral homelands after the creation of Israel, and the unceasing terrorism all bespeak of what modern Islam really wants. During the reign of the last shah, there were 250K+ Jews in Iran (some going back to Esther). Today there are less than 2,500, and most are elderly and dying off. The Ayatollahs are simply going along with the Muslim view of the endtimes, where the Mahdi’s return will herald a slaughter of the Jews.
