   We each have a cell phone and a land line. I have an older Radio Shack answering machine, that picks up on the second ring. My friends and appointment reminders leave a message. Junk callers drop off before the message is finished. Probably automated from Bangladesh. I keep the landline because it is clearer and my kids can call toll free using their cell phones. My security alarm is also in the landline, it will work when we have a power outage.

   Taxpayers cut the budget, and school hours were cut. They don’t teach cursive writing, so much of history is unreadable to today’s high school graduates. No more spelling tests, and learning to pronounce words from sounding out the letters. Everybody gets a passing grade because a D or an F makes a kid feel bad, and the parents complain about the teacher.
