Shannon has a dad and she loves him. He takes care of her most of the time. She does not need to be adopted.

I have both an RN and an MD. I can’t see Luann going through either programs. The MD program is brutal, like being in a war. RN program is rigorous, with different emphases. I don’t know how hard the EMT program is. But she is NOT interested! Fine civilian first responder work, absolutely, props to her for that. (My first aid instructor in college assured me that if I fell over on the street, the majority of bystanders would do nothing. Maybe point and go, “Are you all right? OMG!” and such. Nowadays, most would probably film it on their phones.) What Lu did was extremely commendable. She had the training repeatedly, so did the right things automatically. I’m especially impressed by her calm. :-) Anyway, she’s right to dismiss medicine out of hand. I’m glad she’s not going to waffle about this for months. At least I hope she won’t, you never know!

All right! Real after all! I was disheartened there for a bit. This is a very uplifting arc—thanks, G&K!

Wtf? No, it’s not an insult or a joke. It’s an allied health profession, which I see L being more suited to than an EMT. A great many folks can perform well at citizen first responder but it doesn’t mean they have the temperament to be a paramedic or EMT.

I can see her as an X-ray technician.

Preventing Vale from doing CPR saved Mrs. Horner’s life.
