Walking one’s dog provides good opportunities to interact with the dog and enrich the bond eg surroundings and people all the while keeping awareness of the area for any issues eg broken glass, abandoned chicken bones, poisonous vegetation or loose pets to avoid problems. Sadly constant looking at one’s phone thwarts those opportunities.

Btw, I like Raeside’s raising awareness of this issue which he did on the 1st of August this year. Were there other strips about this issue – if so, can anyone supply the dates – TIA

You can actually see how hot it gets in a parked car by searching for Dr. Ernie Ward who is a veterinarian on YouTube who conducted an experiment testing how hot it does get, even with the windows down partially. An instructive video to share with friends.

Great message! Didn’t I see another TOC cartoon showing the dogs listening to a tv news report about a dog being left in the car and commenting in the vein of “what moron would do that”?

Thank you Mr. Raeside for spreading the word about pets in vehicles. Here is a video of veterinarian Dr. Ernie Ward who shows what it is like for a human to be inside a vehicle with the windows barely open – See the thermometer as the time passes. A very useful tool to share with your friends, neighbors and family: >
