True, but we have water views in Kansas too. And beautiful sunsets, rolling grasslands in the Flint Hills, waterfalls, a wide variety of flora and fauna and plenty of amazing scenery that people never see because the stay on I-70 or the Turnpike. I’m not a native Kansan but have lived here about 60 years and it’s just fine with me!

@Joe1962 You appear to suffer from confirmation bias.

Sad but true. I don’t know the answer but “thoughts & prayers” isn’t it!

MegaMillions odds are pretty long too, 1 in 302,575,350. But, I’ll keep playing as I don’t have any other vices to waste money on, well, other than motorcycles…

Nah, the odds of winning the Powerball are a mere 1 in 175,223,510, or so says the web! :-)

Not just east coast. I’ve heard the term in the Midwest since at least the 70’s.

Don’t forget Moscow, KS. Population 272.

@drbethdance: What you call “money grubbing” I call being a savvy businessman. He capitalized on his success in quite a number of ways, but as a fan of his music for 40+ years I can say with complete confidence that didn’t affect the quality of his music as he continued to crank out amazing tunes. And don’t forget his philanthropic contributions over the years. He was heavily involved in a number of charities. Went to a number of his concerts with my late wife and will always cherish those memories.
