I understand Luann and Gunther have been friends for a long time, but the comment she made to him in the last panel was insulting and snide. After all the hard work he did for her, the very least she could have done would be to offer a special personal invitation to the wedding. To me, it looks like she “used” him, and that’s wrong. I hope she apologizes, and this incident does not sour their friendship.

I was touched by the scene where Quill and Luann were getting “very close” on the sofa, then he gets a call from his father to return to Australia. The look on Luann’s face as he closed the door on the way out was priceless. You could tell she was heartbroken, and the way Greg drew her as she stood there looking at the door after he left moved me to tears. I had this image stuck in my head for a long time. Anyone who has experienced loss in their relationship can relate to the way she felt on that panel. A very important moment in her life, and for me, a milestone for the Luann strip. It’s part of growing up.

Tiff:OK Lu: Here’s a copy of my plans for the kids library time.Just follow along and we’ll get along fine. Now, pick up these books and shelve them. While you’re at it, there are some crayon marks on the desks I told the librarian you’d take care of. I want this done before you leave today. Oh, and by the way, Quill called me several times last week. He’s fine and said to tell you “hi”.

I was just wondering..we never actually saw Quill get on the plane. The arc ended before Quill contacted Luann telling her he was back home. It would not surprise me if Quill showed up at the pool party…with Tiff. What a dramatic senior yearstory line that would make…

I agree with you Ken. This is typical bully behavior. They single a person out and once they discover their weakness, they have an easy victim to taunt and have “fun” at their expense. Bullies have very low self-esteem, and feel the need to hurt others to feel superior. Maybe in future panels we will see Tiffany get the help she needs. Good for Quill for standing up for his feelings. Hope miss goody-two-shoes gets the message.

Tiff has gone out of her way to hurt Luann, from past comments and actions to the latest photo. It would not surprise me at all to later learn Luann got accepted to Drama Camp after all, and Tiff intercepted the acceptance letter, or did something else to keep her away. Tiff has demonstrated she will go to any length to make sure she gets her way, not caring about collateral damage or feelings. Sooner or later, the bad deeds catch with you. But, this is just a snapshot of how mean, vindictive, and bullying kids can be. I’m glad Greg is showing some of this. I hope in future panels Tiff “gets hers”…and I DON’T mean Quill. After her little evil empire collapses, I wonder how many “friends” she’ll have?

How about giving everyone at camp a real treat and screen Tiff..er..Sheraton’s movie? I mean, she’s so talented…why not put her work on display for all to see? Then, while she’s waiting for no one to show up at the autograph table, maybe she’ll realize what a pompous (censored) she is. This might bring her down to earth a little…..

Unless Lu wants to set herself up for a huge amount of hurt, followed by guilt, she had better put the brakes on her raging hormones NOW. It would not surprise me to see Quill leave, go to his hotel room, write Lu a good-bye letter, and never return. She has a great opportunity to have a nice relationship here…but I see she is not (at least in these panels) thinking things through. As Bystander just stated, I think (and hope) Quill slows things down. Better Lu be hurt a little now, than be devastated later.

Quill could be coming here to officially dump Tiff in person at camp. It does bother me that Luann’s parents allowed the transcontinental relationship with Q to continue, though. Knowing he might re-enter Lu’s life, just to go back to Australia later will just hurt Lu more. She needs to find someone “local”. An interesting, “claw-filled” arc awaits…going to be an interesting few weeks ahead…….
