Nothing so good as zucchini relish. Runs rings around blah cucumber relish. I have no luck growing zucchini here (zucchini worms get the vines) but before they discovered my yard, I did grow it to make the delicious relish. If it’s available in any store, it’s a specialty item and costs like gold.

Oh I had a lab mix decades ago that I took on a camping trip and he found and destroyed a mouse nest. The mother ran away but he ate the babies.

Looks like the set we had at my parents’ house… until my little sister managed to pour a sippy cup full of water down the back of it in 1980. RIP console TV

Roopkund Lake: Apparently centuries ago a group of travelers got caught out on the open plains in an enormous hailstorm, and all died (the skulls all show damage that fits the theory). The floods from the rain and melting hailstones washed the bodies down into the lake which preserved them.

The kids around here are bummed because the snow event is happening over a weekend. On the other hand, hubby is delighted not to have to drive a semi in a blizzard.

Never had to deskunk a dog but did have to (TWICE!) remove porcupine quills from a certain idiot dog’s nose. You’d think that the lesson would have stuck (pun intended) but no. Wondered how the dog even knew how to breathe.

I have milkweed growing along the pond. Almost never see a caterpillar. Did see a few monarchs this year, though. Did any of you see on MLB site the monarch that landed on a pitcher’s glove as he was about to release the ball?
