That is why I never took a job in a book store or library, I love reading and feared doing either of those would ruin it for me.
When in college a few years ago, one of the professors asked us to provide a bio so as to know us better. I listed reading as my main hobby and was informed by the professor that reading did not classify as a hobby. Shows just how ignorant some educated people are.
Ditto from me. I was always being pushed around because of me being much larger than others. My father told me the same. I learned to walk away from fights when possible, but I did kick some rear ends on occasion.
In HS I had three guys who were always antagonizing me, wanting to gang fight. I told them to line up and I would take them one at a time. Funny, they never took me up on it.
My apologies, glad you made it. My point was that practically everyone goes to ER for any little thing. Not only does it ties up needed services, but costs are outrageous. Walk in clinics can help some things, but are limited in services.
I had an accident about 20 years ago while cutting trees on my property, I had a tree split and hit me in the top of the head. A friend, who was helping me, drove me to the ER, I sat there for over 30 minutes, coated in blood, before I received any assistance. Fortunately, no concussion.
My last experience, two years ago, was when my brother recognized my delirium while on FaceTime and had my daughter in law, who lives about 30 minutes away, I live in a very rural, isolated area, come check on me. When she arrived, she took one look and said I was going to the ER. Thankfully she ignored my protests, turns out I had developed Sepsis due to a kidney infection. Spent six days in the hospital, took months before I began to feel normal. Sepsis is bad news.
And a senile, old fool who has been on the take for the past fifty years shuffles off to count his 10% and sniff his granddaughters hair.
