Look at the strip a little broader than the selection of one secretary, but rather the whole “things are different when you’re on the other side” view. It is slightly humorous how the Democrats are asking for all of the niceties that they would not give four years ago. That being said, the Republicans are giving the treatment they asked to not receive over the past four years.
When people who identify as following ANTIFA are then also connected to the looting and criminal actions, it becomes guilt by association. I never stated they are the only ones looting and burning. Far right groups engaged in those behaviors can also be classed as criminal. A hateful action is a hateful action, no matter who does it. You have given examples of police injustices against blacks, and I cannot and will not try to justify any of them. But to focus on white cops mistreating persons of color is missing the point of all people showing a lack of concern for their fellow human beings of every color. Lablubber used an example of a house burning down. If someone’s house is burning I would think “all houses matter” and help, I’m not asking the color of their skin before determining my level of involvement. Based on your posts I can assume which way you would vote, all I ask is that you make sure you look at the pros and cons for both sides – yes they do exist.
BLM is not a terrorist group, but their actions are. They say silence is the same as being racist. Their silence about protests becoming riots is the same as them condoning them. When did Anti-fa become a terror group? When they started being connected to arsonists, looters, shooters. Their actions speak louder than their words.I was a college kid in this country in the 80’s, and have now lived here for the past 4 years. As an outsider looking in, both parties seem to do a wonderful job of being top controlled. The R’s have a moron leading them, the D’s have no direction other than a personal vendetta against the president. Neither side is able to present a well thought, bi-partisan plan. The entire country has been on a years long spiral of valuing personal freedoms and the concept of “what is right is what is right for me, it doesn’t matter about what you think is right.” It didn’t matter who the leader was, the COVID impact and death rate in this country is because of everyone’s individuality, not because of any leader. Can you imagine anybody in today’s politics saying “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country?” (sorry if the quote isn’t exact). Today’s world is all about what the country can do for me.
