There’s a book on the making of Airplane!. That 747 through the window scene was the most expensive shot of the whole movie and almost didn’t get in. It’s a plaster edifice mounted on a truck. I didn’t notice until I read the book but I went back and checked and when that happens, everyone, of course, runs but looking closely, someone throws a baby up in the air.
In 1900 an 8th grade education meant you could read, write, amortize a mortgage, do math, balance a checkbook, etc. There are high school graduates who can’t do that now.
