   I would truly love to have some boiled peanuts today to celebrate NATIONAL BOILED PEANUTS DAY. Eastern NC has the best and you can often buy them at the little curb markets. I grew up in Massachusetts and never heard of boiled peanuts until in my late twenties when I moved to North Carolina. They are sooo good…hot or cold!

   I quit donating blood for almost the same reason. I waited an hour and a half from my appointment time…..and then they all decided to go to lunch with me being the only person still waiting. It was #3 giving me the incentive to get back with the program.

   I’m pretty sure Number 3 still reads the comics. Because of her encouragement I am again donating blood on a regular basis. Yesterday was my first donation this year and I dedicated it to her. Her, Affie and others use to make daily comments. It’s sad that old crowd has, for the most part, moved on.
