   so this is kinda OT but reading your comment reminds me that 40 years ago in college I took a couple of Journalism classes as electives… and when I see ‘media’ today… I wonder if they even teach Journalism anymore or just hand cell phones to 10 year olds and call it ‘content’

   Yeah.. local news can be good… but it can be horrible. And I think it changes in every town. We have both an ABC and a CBS station.. you would think they were broadcasting from different planets.. not TV stations on the same block.

   I was an HP fan grl for years. I had an all in one inkjet that I used almost every day that lasted over a decade. But then I had a fast succession of like 3 in a year and I gave up and switched brands.

   I’m only a couple months in with my new printer so I don’t dare say anything yet. Keeping my fingers crossed.

   and I got about 2 inches of slush in the Midcoast area. Never even bothered to call the plow guy. Which is good because I’m totally not ready for winter yet. I need to get off my butt and get the shovels and sand out. arrgg.. and put on the studded snow tires (I hate the sound they make)

   No one should be allowed to profit off of other people’s IP. AI is trained on and steals from other people’s work. Then people like you take it an use it to create things that you can profit from..

   If I ask AI to create a comic based on the style of Georgia Dunn’s Breaking Cat News and it ‘goes viral’.. how on earth is that fair to Georgia? I have stolen her work in order to make a buck.

   Yes. AI is a tool. Unfortunately a hammer can be used to build a house.. or to kill someone. It all depends on how it’s used.

   The best way to prevent AI from stealing people’s IP is to quit giving it to them.
