Sam finally has a toothpick again—AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!

I didn’t get disoriented by the violation of the 180-degree rule, and I think part of it was that I was visually focused on the file folder; the little index tab functioned as an arrowhead.

Okay, noticing that the shape of an ice cream cone is like the shape of a basketball and net, and then DOING something with that to make a little story, is right up there with Ernie Bushmiller’s best work, dontcha think?

Hey, Heart: head west on I-76, then hang a left in Pittsburgh (better yet, in New Stanton).

Varying the angles makes for a more dynamic strip.

Yes! In this case it was a brilliant artistic decision that I believe served two distinct purposes at once. Hail, Carlo Magnifico!

A reference to the “tilted camera angles” that they used on the “Batman” TV show of 1966.

Maybe—but that specific camera angle also has the virtue of letting the reader look directly into Schott’s face to see her angry expression almost dead-on, even though she has bent her head down and slightly to her right, presumably to read a phone number from the card she’s holding.

Nice POV through the window in P2. (We saw that window in the background yesterday.)

Yeah, this took awhile lol. Shane did an amazing job coloring though.

Down to the colors of the keycaps on the Linotype keyboard.

Did you visit the Hamilton Wood Type Museum in person, or just use the great photos on their website as your reference? Either way, thanks for the superb renderings of this amazing machine.

According to the database at linotyperegistry. ORG /machines/ , Linotype Model 8 Number 27008 is currently owned by, and on display at, the Hamilton Wood Type Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin ( see woodtype. ORG /blogs/news/the-linotype-machine-an-evolutionary-cornerstone-of-printing-technology ).

This is the specific image to which I reacted: Https:// tinyurl. com/mwf2p2b7 . (I forgot that when you have posted multiple comments, the GoComics board doesn’t provide a visible record of which comment I replied to.)
