Our honeymoon was driving a 17’ Ryder truck from Kansas to Washington. We met online and so we were moving her to Washington to live with me. That was in 1999. In 2022, we moved “back” to Kansas so she’s close to her parents now. Someday we’ll get a real honeymoon.
Growing up in the PacNW, chainsaws were all around. Love the smell of new cut pine and the sound of chainsaws working. Brings back memories of my mom’s family all cutting my grandpa’s trees together at the holidays for firewood.
No, you don’t want the popular vote for federal elections. We are a republic, not a democracy. The electoral college was designed so that each state gets a say. Make it a popular vote and we might as well not have states. California and New York would determine elections, screw what middle America thinks. With the electoral college, what people in Illinois or Montana think matters equally with much less regard to population. In other words, what the minority thinks also matters.
