We have just passed the “silly” line and are firmly into “stupid” territory, a place that Jimbo is all to familiar. Let’s hope that he’s not going for “brain dead” with this story.

The only premise left in the strip is that the characters are really dumb and must act as stupidly as possible. It makes “The Three Stooges” look like fine art.

Another “Slim Sunday”, guaranteed to be silly or stupid or sometimes both. Sigh

It’s a shoutout to Tarzan with Tantor being the word for elephant in the language of the great apes. Jim picked the eeeyor sound to rhyme.

    Or, maybe, think you can.

For somebody that old, you have a very good memory.

We found what was left of a ripped-up rabbit in our front yard yesterday. Only think left was the intestines and a few bits of fluff. I think it was a neighbor’s cat because our cat hasn’t been out much lately and raw rabbit makes him barf like crazy.

It’s hard to compare and personal preferences always get in the way. In my opinion, “Wallace” has a bit more depth and variety but “Calvin” was more consistently funny. Sometimes, the humor in “Wallace” seems a bit forced. But for kid strips, neither is as good, again my opinion, as “Cul-de-sac”. Thompson was not only very adept at getting into the mindsets of little kids but his artwork is amazingly good. The strip also wasn’t static as new characters were always being introduced. Who knows what new marvels he would have created if he hadn’t passed way too early. Plus the life lessons learned such as “you can’t tie down a banjo man” will live with you forever.
