I am 58 and I have dim memories of childhood. The rules. The rainy days. Going to school. The drudgery. I am semi-retired now. I am contented. The days of childhood were torture. I think Calvin represents most of us. Childhood had its fun and joys. But being an adult is far better.
Christmas trees are grown as a crop, just the same as broccoli or parsley. People that have fake Christmas trees, thinking they are “environmentalists”, are the problem. And then there are the people that throw their trees out on the curb even though the garbage pickup of said trees is on 6th January, which is after the 12 days of Christmas and the beginning of Epiphany. The City I live in has Christmas tree pick-up after Christmas, on the 6th—but there are plenty of dullards that have their trees tossed out and laying there for many days. They are lucky they don’t get a ticket for littering.
An uncle of mine worked indirectly on the Manhatten Project. Yes, he was a physicist and the information only came to light in the 1970s. They were sending things to him at the U of Toronto during WW II, and he did the work and sent it back, not knowing what it was. I found out when I was a teen and was greatly proud of my uncle helping to defeat the monsters that bombed Pearl Harbour.
Bush and Obama did more with war. Put a bit of brain before your hate. Trump is more isolationist and will try to stay out of wars. You far left people really do not understand, do you? So sad and sorry.
This story could have been fun, with all the retired comics. But we got a nobody, and it is getting boring fast. Sorry. What happened to the memories of the early Gasoline Alley strips?
