Duke, Duke, Duke…THIS is where you point out that if you (and your accomplice! Don’t forget your accomplice!) were to (both) turn up dead, or mysteriously vanish, you’ve arranged things so that the incriminating evidence will be automatically delivered directly to the news media.

With cats, being well fed and the instinct to pounce on things aren’t really very closely connected.

“You know, the thing about a shark is he’s got…lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll’s eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn’t seem to be livin’…Until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then…ah, then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin’.”

Juneau, AK, is the very first (“D’you know…”), and Harrisburg, PA, is between Bismarck and Phoenix (“Hair is BURGundy…”). Also, Raleigh, NC, is in between Phoenix and Hartford (there are nineteen total, including Salem, OR, at the very end).

I think this one might “work” a little better over at the strip’s website. On the website, it has a title, “Bear Police”. (https://pbfcomics.com/comics/bear-police/) With that title, the first two panels come across as something out of a children’s book: Some kids are being naughty, but here comes the Bear Police! (And of course Mr. Bear the Policeman is accompanied by his friend, Mr. Bird!)

But then in panel three Mr. Bear the Policeman straight-up knocks the kid’s brains out, because, hey, he’s a BEAR. And then we’re back to the children’s book: Another day’s work for the Bear Police, and now Mr. Bear the Policeman has some coffee and a donut (still accompanied by his friend, Mr. Bird).
