Mostly, we relied on situational awareness. I figured that the reflective stuff was just an expensive substitute for keeping you wits about you.I did buy reflective gear for cycling, but I had never encountered a problem since I started running in 1981.
I worked in a nursing home for 35 years. Rule 1 is if you can’t afford to lose it, don’t leave it in the room. We keep Mom’s jewelry at home and bring it over when she wants to wear it. She’s not happy about it. She figures they will be okay if she hides them under her panties because nobody touches a lady’s unmentionables.
Our community centre has a really good shop. I used it a lot while assembling my own.
