   Then you need to know the Audubon Society is a group dedicated to bird conservationism, named after a painter by the name of James Audubon who was known for his detailed studies of birds. An Autobahn (literally translated from German to mean “Automobile Highway”) is a highway in Germany without speed limits, built during Hitler’s time in office. It so impressed Eisenhower that he modeled the US Interstate system after it.

   I agree with your theory, but go a little farther. I think he is not enjoying himself at all, but is trying to convince himself that because sailing is a “sophisticated sport”, he should be enjoying it, and therefore he must be. Kind of like when a novice goes horseback riding, and sticks with it even when it loosens every tooth he has.
