Third wave feminism might have battled the image stereotype, but all evidence shows that it has, once again, largely failed. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/14/upshot/gender-stereotypes-survey-girls-boys.htmlWomen are still very conscious of how they look. There is nothing at all dated in this joke. If anything it hits home even more, because we want it to be a dated joke, but it isn’t at all. One of my biggest frustrations with women is that they don’t dress with a similar mindset to men when it comes to professionalism. Turn on any news station. What do you see? Women in a dress, often sleeveless, usually short. What are the men wearing? Suits. In many fields, women still dress for their sexuality, not their job. How ridiculous would it be to see a man in any top-level profession show up with so much as an open shirt exposing a muscled physique? Much less if he showed up in tight pants, maybe with a codpiece. This rant is probably a bit off topic, because as Valka states, she’s probably worrying about putting on a professional appearance at court, not a sexual one. My point is that there is still a massive gap between how men an women approach their appearance. But I personally think it’s driven more by competitiveness in women, than it is by male influences.

My dog always has access to potty breaks via dog door, but I also let her come out front with me when I do chores like taking out the garbage. If she wanders off and doesn’t come back in when called, I just shut the door and leave her. I then lock up her doggie door. I let her sit for a minute outside once she does return, then take her by the scruff of the neck out to the backyard for a 15 minute time-out.

If she comes when called she gets a treat. She’s becoming much better behaved about this.

I’ve decided that a lack of laugh and smile lines means a rather sad life anyway. Embrace them!
